I'm a freelance writer, editor, and researcher and recently completed a master’s degree in international migration and public policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Currently working from Tunis, I’ve lived in Los Angeles; Washington, DC; Madrid and Córdoba, Spain; and London (though not always in that order). My interests center on how and why people move, with an emphasis on forced displacement, the spatial and social effects of migration policy, and humanitarian governance.
I’ve written about migration and displacement for the LSE International Development and Human Rights blogs; European asylum policy for The Review of European and Transatlantic Affairs; politics and culture for Mondoweiss; and travel, personal finance, and mental health and wellness for a number of other publications. During my time in London, I edited The London Globalist, LSE’s student-led global affairs magazine, where I produced the publication’s first full-scale anthology.
Prior to my graduate studies, I lived in Tunis for a year and covered breaking news for a US political media nonprofit. Before that, I spent four years facilitating access to social services and immigration support for underserved groups at a medical-legal partnership in Washington, DC.
